Imagine you missed the Heroes bus last year, and this episode was your first experience. I doubt I would have made it to the end.
It was like they forgot to turn off the satire machine from Chuck. It was like watching Ugly Betty but with superpowers. I would have switched to The Disney Channel after the cheerleader scene and tried to catch the last half of Hannah Montana if I didn't cut them slack based on their track record.
Why does HRG work at Copy Kingdom? It must be for the job satisfaction, because he obviously doesn't need the $9/hr. He lives in a $2M house in "Costa Verde", and he can give his daughter the keys to a brand new kind of SUV. I think it was a Toyota. Anyway, Earl at the applicance store was much more grounded in reality. Chuck had way better store names. Large Mart! Buy More! Made me laugh out loud.
And as has been mentioned previously, Hiro In Samurai Land immediately made me think of A Knight's Tale, which is actually a pretty fun movie to watch with 12 and unders, but it's no Heroes. It gets played at our house almost as often as Ella Enchanted.
