No, this is not a grain/style issue, this week's episode was very bad HD here. At least twice I had distracting lines or even grids appear onscreen. Maybe a local issue, but it seemed like several areas had problems.

I got the impression that she figured out who was holding the strings (a previous 4-prong plan seducee) so decided to play along to be sure. I like that Chuck still managed to turn the tables, the Intersect flashes do actually save his life at times.
And yes Larroquette was great, if not a little forced on the 'Greatest agent' guilt trip.

The ending was classic and answered a question that's been eating at me for awhile. Anna's takedown was classic....

Michael Strahan?
Nicole Ritchie?

Why? Why dumb down this show for the mouth-breathers....

By far one of the weakest episodes of this season. It just seemed to break the mold and wasn't as fun as the rest.

Captain Awesome did say awesome though...

And whats up with Bryce playing OK for the good guys? Its been so long since last season I dont remember how that played out. I thought he was a bad guy for blowing up the first mac.

I agree. PQ was atrocious. Flat - no pop whatsoever. The way HD wasn't meant to be. I'm no expert but think it was a combination of NBC's own transmission plus the usual comcast reprocessing and under allocation of bandwidth.

I seem to recall that it had something to do with keeping the Intersect out of the hands of "bad guys" a.k.a. Fulcrum.

But being that this is kind of a live action "Spy vs. Spy," any kind of twist is possible.

PS: Once upon a time, I wrote in complete sentences ... then I found AVSF.

Nah, it's because it's shot on 16mm. Just compare the PQ to Heroes (still 35mm) and My Own Worst Enemy (35mm, at least the pilot) and you'll see the difference.

Dang she looked incredible in that red/salmon dress. Wow.

Pretty good episode, but I wanted chuck's bodyguard to take care of those idiots from the sporting good store. I pictured him going in, closing the blinds and then those guys coming out screaming and crying and begging Morgan for forgiveness.

So....this is an intelligent show to you? Strahan was awesome. I'm just confused how it was a physical showdown and not a Madden showdown. Maybe Morgan's Patriots step up and beat the Strahan Giants this time, or....

No. Been wondering for 2 seasons when/how updates would come. Esp since some of the flashes have seemed to be recent events. Answered.

No, seriously. That particular week had bad PQ. NBC ****ed up. Why is that hard to understand or accept? The film choice doesn't create macroblocking and interlacing artifacts.

I'd like Bryce around more, he adds an edge to the show, plus he drives Chuck crazy.

I'm glad they dumped the hotdog house for the orange place, the outfit is much better. Orange/salmon is her color.

Anybody know what music was used in "Chuck Verus the Break-Up"?

You'll have to narrow that down unless you want a list of every piece of music used for 43 minutes.

That might be tricky.

edit: I just watched the ending again to catch the "I hate Bryce Larkin" laugh. If the breakup music is what you are talking about that's "Skinny Bones" by Bon Iver, from the album For Emma, Forever Ago.

The song that they played twice was by the band The National. Off of their most recent release. Can't remember the name but the album (cd?) is very strong.

Enjoyed the episode, thought Strahan did a pretty decent acting job- especially with the fish-eye lens effect which made him look even larger.

Loved when Casey requested a background check on Anna when she took on Strahan in the cage "I have a possible candidate for field work!"

"If we ain't outta here in ten minutes, we won't need no rocket to fly through space."

After Chuck and Morgan's conversation about "we have brains and they don't" I was disappointed to see the resolution boil down to the cage fight. Probably would have liked it better if they'd have beaten the bullies by outsmarting them.

Although I suppose the real-life scenario of just having the cops come and drag them out of there, followed up with being charged with counts of destruction of property, assault, and terroristitic threats wouldn't have been as exciting.

You have to hand it to the ill-named McG. Coming from the music world, he has made Chuck the best soundtrack on TV.

Thank you! Both The National and Bon Iver are amazing bands that I have never heard of. I will go an Amazon and download both albums.

I have discovered a ton of good music through this show, such as The Editors and Arcarde Fire.

Who is McG and what does he have to do with Chuck?

My Own Worst Enemy looked excellent.

Film choice does cause macroblocking. The huge amount of grain in 16mm overloads the compression because the encoder can't tell grain from actual image detail. Encoding grainy film is like encoding continuous motion since the grain is moving 24 times a second. Is that hard to accept or understand?
