MILLIONS would like the answer to that question...
Sharpness is 20. I'm using one of the setting someone posted here.

Digital Noise Filter...I'm assuming you mean "Digital Clean View" is OFF and MPEG Noise Filter is OFF. Is that okay?

You are early. CBS will use the same truck(s) that did the Super Bowl. Cannot be in 2 places at once.

I've known you for a dozen years, and I know you are not a PGA fan, but you were the one that actually posted the dates!

Who says we don't get the good stuff first!

From 2/17-2/21, Northern Trust PGA Golf will be in 4k on channel 9801. To watch, you'll need an HR54 and either a C61K or 4K DIRECTV-Ready TV used as a client. You do not need a reverse band LNB.

Take the poll above and let me know you're ready!

So how did you like your UHD Super Bowl?

Of course, NHK actually due it in 8K, which the Costco Reps didn't know either!

If I would your Costco's rep, I would jump through hoops and would get the game on flash drive, run it on demo 4K TV

Thanks, I guess I didn't look far enough back to find that post.

(And sorry for blaming you Don, I know you have big shoulders though and can handle it! )

That's not always a good idea.
Displays are different, even among the same manufacturer and model....one size does not fit all.

I don't know what display you have and am not familiar with the nomenclature your manufacturer is using.

I recommend you direct your questions to the owner's thread of the display you are using in AVS's display section of this website.
No doubt some members on the thread also use DirecTV and would be better equipped to point you in the right direction.

Dear DirecTV

please change the 4K test loop on channels 9800/9801

while I enjoy looking at the boxing ring girls, the rest of it, well I have seen enough of this loop to last me forever

Please: how about some 4K golf, or football, or basketball or...something else

Thanks

Even my wife asked 'with all the 4K material, why don't they alternate their program'?

Tell them to get their stuff together for next year!

Maybe some clips of the 8K downconverted to 4k will hit Youtube or something.

It reminds me of the very early days of HD, I think it was Discovery HD and HDNet that ran the same thing over and over again.

I remember those days of beginning HD - HDnet at least did run a few movies and sport events, and HBO didn't run same event in a loop. Nay...

it's test channels for CE participants; there is no way to complain, just accept its status AS-IS

When you run IAMANEDGECUTTER search it shows up. It is how you get to the report feature.

If I turn on the HR44 and don't get a pic and instead play something on the Oppo, then switch back to D* when I'm finished, then I'll get a picture, which tells me what we already know; this is a handshake issue. Why is this so inconsistent?
They must have resolved this HDCP warning issue because I don't see it anymore. It dawned on me this week that it hasn't popped up in a while - maybe a month or so. Running it through the Oppo increases the time until I see a picture, but at least I no longer have to turn the HR44 off and back on again once everything is up an running. From the time I hit the Harmony on button, it takes 10 seconds for audio to kick in and 24 seconds to see a picture.

you are missing in your observation very key point of your conclusion: "They must have resolved this HDCP warning" - version(s) of FW, before, at first messages and now.

I still get those messages, but I'm running video through a Denon AVR; the message is random and clears on its own, so I attribute it to an occasionally slow handshake from my Panasonic plasma.
