I liked it, but I felt Leonard and Penny's plotline was just contractual. As in, they had to have them on for so many minutes. Didn't advance plotline, wasn't particularly funny. Meh.

I didn't think of the "big secret" the other day, but as soon as I saw Howard on screen it just struck me.

Glad to see Alessandra Torresani on TV again, what has she been up to lately?

Has anyone else noticed that Tim Cook (Apple CEO on the news lately) is a spitting-image voice double for Sheldon?

To anyone interested in a Google Chromebox or Chromebook..
Be aware that these boxes run a variant of Linux and DO NOT support HDCP!!!
This means no support for HD on most streaming services. I wish I would have known this beforehand....

Oh man, that was an excellent episode. Probably the best of the season. Howard actually made the show this time. His initial panic attack in the kitchen was laugh out loud funny, "because if you don't it looks like a pig in a blanket" and his discussion on the nanny, baby's looks, etc. were just hilarious. And then Sheldon drunk was pretty darn good too. Only low part were the girls but those scenes were brief. Great episode, reminds me of past seasons were it was really hitting all cylinders.

I thought the last few have been pretty good.

In seeing the preview for next week, looks like we have the return of Leslie Winkle. I always liked that character.

The only real funny part of this episode was Adam West in the car debating Batman actors. The rest was just OK, the birthday wishes were touching at times.

The real highlight was Penny in that dress, good Lord, the scene in the bathroom - WOW she looked good.

I didn't particularly care for last night's episode. It seemed a let down especially considering it was a Wheaton episode.

It dawned on me while watching how much the show has changed to appeal to a larger demographic.

This whole season has been like that in my opinion. Adam West was the only bright spot. As much as I like the show, unless next season raises the bar back to where it used to be, I'll be out. Perhaps the rumors will turn out to be true & next season will be the last.

I thought it could have been better. The Adam West parts, especially in the car, were funny though.

And Stuart not getting to make his speech.

Not really much of a rumor. The one co-creator came out and said he thought it was but couldn't speak for everyone else and the other said he couldn't believe it lasted 9 years and is still number 1 and said he just goes episode by episode plus next year ends all their contracts. Money/ratings talk, but the writing appears to be on the wall.

Re-introducing the Leslie Winkle character was very odd, so out of place. She hasn't been on there in several seasons and she's suddenly invited to Sheldon's party. I thought they would have re-introduced her in another way, then she ends up at the party. This was obviously not thought out very well.

Since his twin sister likes parties, and Sheldon traditionally doesn't... I figure she was already planning a party for his sister and otherwise obligated.

I really liked the scene with Raj on the phone with the girls trying to help in the background and then in the car, changing his mind. And Sheldon with his contract was pretty good, and a pretty nice moment when he gave some of his money to their kid.

‘Big Bang’ pushes CBS to first on Thursday
Network averages a 1.9 rating among 18-49s for the night
By Toni Fitzgerald, Media Life Magazine - Mar. 11, 2016

What a difference original episodes of “The Big Bang Theory” makes for CBS’s Thursday night lineup.

A new episode of the 8 p.m. sitcom posted a 3.5 rating among viewers 18-49 in its half hour on Thursday, according to Nielsen overnights, easily the top show of the night in the demo.

That helped the network average a 1.9 rating for the night in the demo, good for first place and up 19 percent from a 1.6 last week, when it finished in third place with a repeat episode of “Bang.”

“Bang” was also the most-watched program of the night on broadcast, averaging 14.49 million total viewers. In fact, it was the only program of the night to surpass the 10 million viewer threshold.

Meanwhile, Fox finished second for the night in 18-49s with a 1.8 average overnight rating and a 6 share, down a tenth from last week’s 1.9/6.

ABC was third with a 1.7 rating and a 6 share, flat to last week, while NBC finished tied for fourth at 0.7/3, also flat to a week ago.

Univision tied NBC for fourth at 0.7/3, with CW sixth at 0.6/2 and Telemundo seventh at 0.5/2.

CBS also led the night among households with a 5.2 average overnight rating and a 9 share. That was up 11 percent from last week’s 4.7.

Now? It took this long?

This show went generic to appeal to the mainstream years and years ago. Look back at the early pages in this thread and you can read about it as it happened.

Just another decent episode last night.

I see the show has also gone the route of the not-so-subtle product placement with the movies posters for 10 Cloverfield Lane behind the guys as they stood in front of the movie theater.

Sheldon must be pretty sneaky to haul all that crap to the storage shed over the years undetected without use of a car or a confidant who could drive him there.

I enjoyed the show, but liked the Sheldon part much more than this. This was old, I Love Lucy territory. Can see it with Fred & Ethel and Ricky & Lucy by the men or the women. Raj made it a bit different.

It's hard to have a nerd show without actual nerdy products. Xbox vs PS4, Sheldon's Green Lantern and Flash T-shirts, Star Wars, Star Trek, LOTR, etc., etc., etc. It's not as bad as some shows where everybody uses a Windows Phone and Surface tablets.

Now, why would Sheldon be using Alienware? Why didn't he try to fix his lappy? :P

I thought having a flaky laptop and not being bothered by it considering his exacting personality was a bit off. If it was a desktop, I could see him trying fix it or replacing the malfunctioning component, but a laptop is difficult to repair on your own, even for a genius. He'd basically have to send it in or have a technician come out and put his grubby, germ ridden hands on it.

As for why he had an Alienware laptop, perhaps the producers thought the glowing alien head was cool and nerdy, not really considering if it was actually something a true computer gaming geek would own.

He isn't an engineer and they have shown numerous times he doesn't know how to do that kind of stuff and relies on Howard (e.g. fix the drone, replace his hard drive in his Tivo, etc.)

Good episode but that whole storage unit was off, how did he get the bigger stuff there? He doesn't drive and it seemed far away. Could he get it out of the apartment and use a bus/taxi? Possibly but seems odd.

Most of that stuff has probably been there since before Leonard. And as a single person with a six-figure income who shares an appartment he can afford a service to come pick up stuff and put it in his locker for him.
