Wait, it just dawned on me, the banter is keeping with the theme of the show.

Never mind.

Ha ha. I noticed that too. It was entertaining and illuminating.

Would ya trade place with the theory guys?

With the September 21 season premiere rapidly approaching, CBS has set up an official Twitter page for The Big Bang Theory. Good show information will appear here. You can follow it on Twitter here :

Agreed! Same for our household here. It was great to have them back from the arctic.

One does have to wonder - where will Leonard and Penny go from here?

A co-worker and I are debating whether she had some enhancement done over the summer. I can't tell, but if she did it looks like she followed my one cup rule.

Best line:
I am going to stay in Texas and try to teach evolution to creationists.

I thought that she looked embiggened as well. Might just have been the clothing though.

Probably the clothing. Also, young women can fluctuate in size with their periods, etc.

Consider this from Ms. Cuoco's perspective. She's already a star on a hit TV series. She is the "it" girl on the show. There is lots of positive buzz about the show and about her. Fans already think she looks fantastic. Ask yourself, what could she possibly gain from having breast augmentation surgery at this stage?

The answer should be obvious. Absolutely nothing. So, again, from her perspective, there is no reason whatsoever even to consider such surgery at this stage in her career. None.

She hit the young actress jackpot by being cast as the only woman star on a bona fide hit TV series that is going into its third season with strong ratings.

Why mess with that? Answer? A sensible young actress like her wouldn't. Therefore, the most logical answer to your speculation is that no, she didn't have any enhancement over the summer. She looks great.

One a quick technical aside, did anyone notice that the show ran rather short? I've not edited out the commercials to see the actual running time yet, but I did notice that the DVR had it in a 29-minute time slot, which it didn't even come close to filling (I think it ran just over 28 minutes total). So, as Leonard has said:

"What's up with that?!"

Running time without commercials/intro song/end credits was 20min 43sec, which is about average for this show.

Very funny return, looks like they don't need to shake off any rust from the summer break.

TBBT has always aired with less run time than many shows.

I like to think of it as the difference between the old school 40-minute albums (which were often brilliant) and modern albums which often feel the need to fill 80 min of CD with crap.

If a 20 min show works as well as TBBT, then dammit they should all be 20 min long.

The 9:30 Monday time slot has been 29 minutes for a few years now. No matter what show has been in that slot, it's been 29 minutes for as long as I can remember. Two and a Half Men gets one more minute for being the number one rated sitcom, I guess. Who knows?

But since BBT outdrew 2.5M this week I wonder how long they can claim to be the #1 rated sitcom?

(outdrew in the 18-49 demographic)

Kaley Cuoco has never had and does not have implants. They use some sort of push up or padded bra in certain scenes. Here she was at the Emmys last Sunday with her normal looking breasts.

I think they do this to charge the higher ad fee based on the show that precedes or follows it. Instead of splitting the break they charge the rate of the higher rated show for all of the commercials. Now if they bring in bigger numbers (than TAHM) at some point I would expect it to become 31 minutes.

Charles,

So, what you're saying is that, for the ad rates that 2HM is charging (as the #1 comedy), it's to CBS' advantage to have it run 1 minute long, as it means 1 additional minute at the higher rate, verses the (currently) lower ad rate for BBT?

Very interesting - thanks for the clarification, as it makes quite a bit of sense (re the total runtime/airtime comparison).

Again, additionally, on a totally non-technical note, it seems to me that Kaley has to work pretty hard to look anything less than stunning, but part of the fun of any episode is seeing which of the many "sides" of Penny might show up.

It's probably about pushing 2.5M's ratings into the following half hour. TV folk do some weird stuff to shuffle the numbers sometime.
