I was left wondering why Leonard (and later, Penny) didn't lie to Sheldon and just tell him that they called his mother and had her forward his haircut records to the new barber. Or why the barber didn't just say that he had been studying Sheldon's records on the rare opportunity that he would one day have the privileged of cutting Sheldon's hair.

It's clear that Sheldon believes he is superior, and he believes it to the point that he will intentionally delude himself into believing that others agree with his superiority. Lying to him and stroking his ego is the easiest way to get him to do what you want.

The running gag with Howard's mother never gets old, but that mama-boy stuff maybe a deal breaker for Bernadette.

Solution: FREE. Explanation: I will have to charge$ you.

I guess I expect more from "smart" people than poop and puke jokes. Howard's situation could lead to some funny stuff, not what they did. And quite frankly I'm just plain tiered of Sheldon. People with Asperger's syndrome can learn social skills, it might be funny to see Sheldon attempt and over time succeed.

Maybe after 5 seasons I'm just burned out on the show. For me, they have milked the situation dry.

At least the good news is that they're killing it in the ratings. Funny how that works.

Good points. I agree.

In my opinion, the best thing the writers ever did with Sheldon was to place him in one-on-one interactions with Penny. For me, some of the most memorable moments from the show are those: Sheldon hugging Penny after she gave him the Leonard Nimoy signed napkin; the first time Penny took care of Sheldon and she sang "Soft Kitty" to him; the time Sheldon was locked out of his apartment and stayed at Penny's and she sang "Soft Kitty" to him so he could sleep; and when Penny dislocated her shoulder in the shower and Sheldon had to help her dress before going to the hospital. The "Penny, Penny, Penny" knocking thing was cute for a while, especially when Penny started making a game of different ways to answer the door. They've probably gone to the well enough on that joke now.

Yeah, really, the only thing really left to do is to let the much less intense version of the Ross-Rachel romance that is Leonard and Penny play out to a satisfying end. The Sheldon Show is played out and needs to die.

The one I enjoy and find the most humor in consistently now is Raj.

I'm new to the show, having just started watching this year and so far it's not as funny as everyone told me. All I heard from friends and family is "You're a nerd. You'll love it." So far it's a big meh for me.

Maybe it's because I have Aspergers myself but I find it to be not very clever. I think Community is funnier by far. I'll keep watching though. It beats watching American Idol on Thursday.

Whoever said "You're a nerd, you'll love it" is not a nerd. Real nerds can tell the show stopped aiming for that audience a long, long time ago. It's a generic Chuck Lorre sitcom now.

If you watch the first two seasons and then stop you might find more that will appeal. Gags about photons and time machines take the place of the the majority of masturbation and fart gags the show runs on now.

And yes, Community has far more nerd-appeal and runs on far more geeky concepts.

"STAR TREK" ICON LEONARD NIMOY BEAMS UP TO "The Big Bang Theory"

Feb. 29, 2012 - It's a dream come true for Sheldon when he has a close encounter with his hero, Mr. Spock, on The Big Bang Theory, Thursday, March 29 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Legendary sci-fi icon Leonard Nimoy guest stars, lending his voice to a unique reprisal of his three-time Emmy-nominated "Star Trek" role.

"Leonard Nimoy's first appearance on BIG BANG was as DNA on a napkin," stated Executive Producer Bill Prady. "For this episode, we are delighted to hear his voice. We look forward to introducing Mr. Nimoy, body part by body part, over the course of many seasons to come."

Dang it, they blew a HUGE oppurtunity for geeks everywhere. Instead of making this an episode about their all weekend gaming session, they decided to focus on the women and Penny. This could of been the episode to save and re-watch, so many things could of been done with that gaming session but no. I am getting tired of so much focus on the women and not enough on the core cast like it use to be.

When you get older you often attempt to do things you did in your youth. It's never the same and I think even one of them lamented such.

I think the writer's are getting sick of that gag, considering he has had a beer in hand nearly every scene he's in this entire season. I wouldn't be surprised if they were building up to an episode that deals with his alcohol dependance.

Actually, I would be surprised because I'm starting to doubt the writer's are as clever as we gave them credit for in season 1. They're good at little things like the Spock doll gag, but any extended character arcs they try fall flat.

The biggest thing I noticed last night was how old the cast is looking. Raj attempting to move forward played nicely but with Sheldon it was more sad than funny. They really need to invent some grown-up quirks to play off of...

If you watch some of the older episodes on TBS, then start watching a new one on the DVR like I did last night, you will notice that. You will also notice that Jim Parsons has added a little bit of weight (haven't we all?).

Yep - I have a season pass for reruns (local syndication). Off the cuff Raj and Jim appear to be aging not as gracefully. On one repeat I will swear Raj talked to Penny (or some other female) without ever having a drink. Unless he had one in the scene before they started taping. I even rewound the episode and did a double take.
