When Raj talked with Summer Glau in the train he was drinking non-alcoholic beer, so his issue is 100% psychological, because with one sip of alcohol the effect is instant.. (I don't think the drink had made it to the stomach yet LOL)

Of course it is psychological. Would there be any physiological reason why he couldn't talk to women unless he is drunk?

This is an episode where he talked to her in Sheldon and Leonard's apartment. If I'm not mistaken the female (Penny I'm thinking) was next to the door and he was sitting or close to the kitchen. It was only a line or two he spoke. As I said I rewound to the beginning of the show and noted it to my wife at the time. There wasn't any drinking going on in the scene... perhaps there were bottles on the sofa table or something I missed. I almost keep the episode for reference but I'm not that much of a nerd. I do remember it was one of the earlier ones.

The Spock doll poses were freaking hilarous, every one had me cracking up.

Sheldon's hair sure looks weird for some reason.

Great episode, would of loved to of actually had Nimoy on the show but it was still good. Looking forward to Hawkins on this week's episode.

Fully agree about the doll poses. They were perfectly posed to the comments being made by Spock at the time.

I liked last night's episode, more like the early seasons. Howard putting Sheldon through the ringer for payback was funny, especially the French maid's costume.

Yeah, that was awesome, the whole Sheldon in the clothing store with his mom was soooo funny.

Was that the real Hawking I wonder. Or did they film him in Cambridge then have a Sheldon do the blue screen thing???

Howard had the extra parts from Hawking's chair, it would be funny if at the end the chair starts to disintegrate, dunno how they would have filmed it though.

There is a promo shot out there somewhere that showed Hawking and Parsons together on the set.

I'd imagine its legit. Wouldn't be the first time Hawking has guest-starred on a TV show (an episode of Star Trek: TNG as a hologram that I know of).

That's the last time I remember Hawking on TV, on ST: TNG

I didn't know the fact that they used his voice/synthetizer for a Pink Floyd tune..

Not enough Hawkings in my opinion. Sheldon fainting at the end was awesome. Also loved Howard's torture of Sheldon, man I just love that dressing room scene and the lines. I had to watch it again.

Thread has been rolled back to the most recent on-topic post. Some legitimate posts may have been removed in the rollback. For that, I apologize.

Further off-topic posts will result in the poster being banned from participating in the thread and will be removed without subsequent notice.

UPDATE: Suspensions and thread bans have been issued. Mocking the mods is really really a bad idea.

Walking the fine line between jaw-dropping and a plain ol' yawn.

With all the excitement this week about SpaceX successful berthing, they missed to do a shout-out from Mrs Wolowitz: Howard, this is your Mother. I pursueded Elon Musk to send you up some extra Fluit Loops!

Bernadette Dad: It will be OK son (for you to go to space). [aaahhhh]
Howard: Really?
Dad: Pretty girl like Bernadette, she will find another man.

LOL!

Tonight Sheldon said something about how fast his hair was growing, at (some unit) per femtosecond. Anyone catch what he said?

Google came through. It was in yoctometers per femtosecond.

The rate seems too low. That works out to about a tenth of a millimeter per day.

Haven;t done the Big Bath math, but average human hair growth should be around 1.25 cm/month (0.4mm/day). Since BBT seems to take such things seriously I'd be a little surprised they
didn't check it out.

EDIT: "four point six yoctometers per femtosecond" which actually does translate to around 1.2cm.month so BBT continues to double check the science.

Yep. I heard her interviewed on some public radio program and she was was quite funny.

One of the first season episodes of BBT has referenced both Winnie Cooper and her Math PhD and "that girl from Blossom being a Neuroscientist." I found it rather interesting
that both actresses appeared in episodes 2+ years later and now Bialek is a full cast member.

I much preferred Danica McKellar's appearances on How I Met your Mother. If you've seen either episode, you know what I mean wink.gif

YES IT IS BACK!!! One of the best comedies on TV. The premiere episode really had a feel of the original season instead of the later seasons. They were really firing on all cylinders. Excellent!

For a slight moment I thought Sheldon and Amy would break up... and Amy ending dating Raj...

Instead we have Raj dating the comic book guy.. LOL

Howard with suspension cables.. he didn't fake it good you could kinda see the harness effect on his pants and position.. (yeah I guess paying for those zero grav planes is really expensive)

Not as good as the first episode. I was dissappointed that the astronauts are acting like that with Howard, they are coming off as to over the top, makes NASA kind of look bad.

Also didn't like how Penny all of a sudden wants to break up now, seems out of left field.

Sheldon appears to be more like he was in the first season. Also love the addition of the comic book store owner. Loved Sheldon's lines with him, very funny.

I don't think that she wants to break up with him, I just think she's not sure how she ultimately feels about him, and the pressure of her girlfriends cornering her about it made it worse.

She obviously enjoys spending time with him, she's just not experiencing that chemical rush.

Of course it doesn't help that her consumption of alcohol has increased in the last season or so. Maybe that's all building up.
