That's nice, but the last "during the movie" popup graphic I saw on that channel was for Outlander.

Right, Starz is usually pretty bad with it but at least this program (itself) was unlittered. I wonder how long that will last..

And speaking of how long something will last, the usual HBO and HDNET Movies presentations still appear spotless and unlittered [except of course for promos, which is somewhat understandable, I guess, sorta..].

The sensitive, intelligent managers at HDNET movies and HBO have been our last holdout, ....that is, maybe until Murdoch sinks his claws into HBO.

Have you watched a movie on HDNET Movies? It's pretty decent. While I have seen a channel bug and a kid's scene bug, I have not seen a snipe nor end credit interference.

(Edited my previous post to add HDNET [movies] to our 'list'.)

My local CBS channel now puts their channel number and a duplicate CBS logo slightly up and to the left of the normal semi see through CBS logo for about a minute at the start of shows. To make it extremely annoying, its about 50% larger...solid Silver with white edging.

.

There he goes again... Good Ol' R. Reagan's favorite Troll line !

At least Fox Sports 1 has discontinued the use of the ticker for the National League Division Series.

PS is there any reason why I can't use screenshots to upload images from my phone?

Directv is having a free weekend of the premium channels and last season of Banshee is playing on More Max. The hashtag is still there.

I was hoping a Max Go app would be available on a Playstation or Roku by now.

Examples of on-screen clutter covering subtitles:

First Alert Weather Banner

Our local CBS station in Washington, DC, WUSA, now sees fit to add a "First Alert Weather" banner at the bottom of all programming. They have shrunk down the sides to make the banner fit. No amount of complaining to the station has changed their mind. I don't need to know the temperature, wind chill and freaking air quality 24x7!

24x7 I agree, that would be awful! You'd think CBS would have something to say about a station that advertises 24x7 over their programming.....
The worst show to watch for scrolls, and it's on for the whole 4hrs they broadcast is the Today show. They have several scrolls, one on top of each other, the NBC bug and other various bugs Reminds me of a old MSNBC parody skit where basically the whole screen was covered by scrolls and bugs, only a tiny area in the middle of the screen was visible! Sadly that comedic skit is becoming all to much reality

I tried lots of youtube searches to no avail I'm pretty sure is was a parody of MSNBC and I believe it may have been on SNL(not sure though). I've seen a link posted here on AVS but not sure if it was this tread.....it should really be the clip for this thread.

Actually, I believe it was The Bloomburg Channel.

Have you seen the newest thing USA came up with to advertise Dig? It's like the channel goes glitchy, and then for a couple of seconds a completely FULL screen advertisement comes on while programming is still running.

Didn't see that but I did watch something on the CW yesterday that really PO'd me! I rarely watch the CW as most of it's programming is aimed at people several decades older than I, but my Tivo recorded a Figure Stating event(Stars On Ice) that just happened to be on the CW. Anyway the overall picture quality was excellent, 1080i and decent enough bandwidth to have very minimal macroblocking. My main issue was the obnoxious CW logo along with a constant bug advertising when a new show was coming up, in THREE frickin' weeks!!! It was very distracting being in the normal lower right corner, which is where the ice is and stood out like a sore thumb. To make matters worse, about every 5 minutes (over 10 times in my 60 minute event) the bug would come alive, black dots would be in various areas of the screen and a graphic would move in the lower right, eventually going back to the constant advertisement for iZombie, we eat brains After ruining my show, Just out of spite I'd never watch that show, even if it was something I might be interested in. As it was I could care less about zombies and eating brains, ya it really chapped my hide what a local station(or maybe all of the CW) can do

Gotham on FOX is now on the Cinemax bandwagon. I just noticed last night that Gotham had a Twitter hashtag in the lower right corner stating "#GOTHAM"

So silly. Let the viewers see the hashtag for 5 seconds in the opening scene. After that, go away!

Are you a toddler, or did you really mean younger than you ? The CW's target audience is teens and 20's FYI.

yes, I should have said younger
I like a few things on the CW such as Arrow, Hart of Dixie and Rein, but the vast majority of CW programming(and commercials) seems to star young perfect looking people, probably aimed at viewers of the same demo, for sure different programming as on my favorite network, CBS.
the CW does get high marks from me for picture quality, including resolution, color and very brightly lite scenes, it always seems sunny on the CW

My wife and I streamed season 1 of Broadchurch last year and thought it was one of the best series we've ever watched. Season two begins tonight on BBCA, but we decided to wait until it is available via streaming (even if that means waiting months) because BBCA has SO many distractions on the screen. A show as intense as Broadchurch needs to be seen distraction free to get he full effect.

You just described how casting works. People don't want to watch shows about ugly old people. CW is just slightly ahead of the curve by seemingly refusing to let anyone older than 35 appear on any of its shows.

Knock it down to 30, place the people in a dome ... Logan's Run!

(Don't confuse this with "Under the Dome", otherwise nicknamed peasants under glass.)

My very humble setup:
Man Cave:Vizio E500i-A1 "Smart TV" (50-in 1080p 120Hz LED/LCD, has Netflix app.), Sony BDP-S3100 Blu-ray player, Roku N1000 (original model), PC (Windows 7), Comcast Internet (120Mbps/12Mbps).
Bedroom:LG 32LV3400-UA TV (32-in 768p 60Hz LED/LCD), HD DVR (Motorola RNG200N), Xfinity Comcast cable (Digital Preferred Plus), DVD/VHS player.
