I am considering switching to Comcast, but the deals all come with a package of channels called "Starter Digital Cable". That is not shown on any list on their site. They show Digital Classic, Digital Preferred, and Digital Premier. I did a chat session with their customer service, and he could not find it either! So they want me to commit to a year of a package without knowing what channels. There may some local differences, but what is the Starter Digital list?

It is generally extended basic with a box.
In many areas it will include a number of channels that are now digital only.

You can get an accurate, up-to-date list from your local Comcast office. They generally have more applicable information about your area than the toll-free number does.

In most areas, you can type in your service address at comcast.com and obtain links to bring up the channel lineups. In my area, Digital Starter is basically the Expanded Basic service (roughly 70 channels) plus On Demand. You'll probably get a very basic, bare-bones Motorola DTC700 cable box and a very nice Comcast remote to use with the service.

Comcast, Why is it that it seems to take them a month to be able to do anything?

Recently they moved HSN, TV Guide, and The History Channel to digital only (why would you move TV Guide to digital only? They have the on screen guide)

I decided that since I needed a box I would get the Digital Starter package as it provided both the History Channel, and the Science Channel. After nearly 5 hours on the phone with CSRs, Managers and Provisioning half of the people tell me that the Science Channel is NOT apart of the Digital Starter package, and the other half say it is.

When I decided to upgrade to this package I specifically asked about this channel. Now Comcast tells me that If I want the Science Channel, I need to cough up another $67 a month. My bill is already $108.45.

Managers are now telling me that "It's a marketing mistake on the website" Shouldn't that mean that they need to provide me with what is advertised?
