Hi,

I have a 2.1 Xfree Speaker System. There a is 3.5mm male to male cable with volume control connecting PC output to Sub-Woofer. There is some problem in this wire causing some distortion in the audio that is played. I find it difficult to find a cable(3.5mm male to male cable with volume control) of this sort. Can I use a 3.5mm male to male cable WITHOUT volume control as an alternative and use PC to control volume? Are there any other alternatives?

Thanks,
Arun

So the cable you have now goes from the PC output to the input of the sub, and the 2 speakers conenct to the sub?

If so, then yes, any cable will work, and you can just adjust volume using the pc volume. That cable just adds an extra volume control so you dont have to use the pc's volume.
