I already have Direct TV service. Can I purchase a Direct TV receiver from other than Direct TV and connect to an already activated line without Direct TV knowing? They want to charge an installation fee PLUS force a renewal of my two year contract just for adding one of their receivers!

The line is not activated. Each receiver must be activated.
