Sure this question has been asked before but no luck with searches. TIA for any input.

Local cable provider switching to all digital and provided a couple of Pace DTA boxes that work fine with old TVs. Here is the problem... Am building vintage stereo system that I would like to run the analog audividioo through as would sound better than TV speakers (duh!) Problem lies in available connections.
DTA has only RG6 coax in/out (digital/analog chnl 3/4) TV (Phillips TS2746C)
has RG6 in as well as RCA audio and video in, no audio out. DVD/VCR tunerless recorder/player (Magnavox DV225MG9) has RCA inputs only, no RG6.

Not interested in recording off cable so video signal is moot but would like to know if there is a way (short of buying dedicated junk vcr. No more room) to grab audio output off RG6 analog output from the dta ?

Probably simple or not possible as is the usual case. Tks again for any input

What you are looking for is called a Demodulator. Not nearly as common as a modulator but they can be found.

Here is a quick Google search

Looks like the best deals are used head-end equipment on E-bay.

A 'phile and his money are soon parted...

Thanks..... for the price, will probably just by a junk vcr at the local thrift store, split the output from the DAT and rip the audio output that way

Thanks again for the input

You might request a cable box with the A/V outputs. They do have one that's nearly as basic as the DTA.

The audio from an RF-only DTA is monaural only, I am 99% sure.

How can we say "the digital transition is complete" when thousands of low power stations are still broadcasting in analog?
LOW POWER ANALOG NEEDS TO DIE NOW!!!

You can safely add the other 1%
