The Directv current promotion is 29.99 for the entertainmnet package for 12 months not including with the additional dvr lease fee. After 12 months the second year the package goes up to 44.99. Has anyone had issues with Directv as far as not promising or being honest. I just don't want to commit to them if they have issues.

They have a very large customer base.... I think they are "honest". It's up to you to read the "fine print" of the contract. Also, make sure you get a site survey prior to any commitment(s). If you have poor line of sight from where your dish is mounted to the satellites (trees, buildings, etc.), you may have problems.

Take the $29.99/mo x 12 + $44.99/mo x 12 mo dvide by 24 mo = $37.49/mo if that is acceptable rate for you, then go for it.

In most cases if you get more services (phone, internet, cell) from the same company you get discounts. So, comparison shop for the whole package.

Time Warner only charges $29.99/month per service if you get all 3.

Just for comparison, we pay $66/mo for Verizon FiOS triple play (PrimeHD TV, 20/5 Internet, local/long distance/International phone), comes out to $23/month per service.

6 TV's in the house on FiOS and we only pay $4.99/month to connect them all!!! Power to the CableCard and WMC7!!!

I have been with them for almost 7 years now, My family could not be happier. For me, PQ & SQ is just superior & more consistent to our previous cable providers. I have always been able to resolve an issue with Cust. Svc. Like anything, read the fine print before signing.

Just had it installed this week and I am amazed at the HDMI quality improvement over cable. I have however been yet to setup the audio 5.1 with the Denon 4311 ci. correctly.

Go to the audio section of the settings and turn on Dolby Digital

during the contract you are OK but after that you are trash.
They told me that I could not get a deal because I was not a new customer then I said: I am the one that pay for sure how come you prefer a flying bird for a secure customer. ---Well that is the way it is--- I said I think I am going to your competitor; and they said; I you cancel we will not take you back before 2 years.
So I said, I am trash, and they said --Is your word---

Good buy Direct TV. Hope that they do not pull me a fast one when Cancel.

They've always treated me good, whether in an agreement or not. It's easy enough to ask for the Retention Department to try to get a deal. I read about people getting free months or discounted services all the time.

CIAO!

I found out about the Retention Department the day that I cancel, not before wish I knew about it. The gentleman that I did the cancellation was very niece, wish they were all like him, but it was too late. Now I have Uverse and it is Ok.
