I just received a 3100HD earlier this week. I hooked it up and it's running HD channels fine, but I am unable to adust the 4:3 material or really adjust any video options whatsoever.

Normally when I watch standard def cable, I run it in either stretch or zoom mode, but I am unable to make this adjustment. I've gone through all the setting menus and can't find anything that will help.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Billbofet

Been a few years since running a 3100HD, but seem to recall it didn't have these features here at NYC's TWC. That's a fairly ancient STB and suggest bugging your cable company for a newer unit such as the 8300HD (DVR), or a newer STB without DVR (hard disk recording) but the features you prefer. Watch lots of 16:9 material with a 8300HD on my CRT RPTV, but also usually keep 4:3 as is because gray side pillars minimize the risk of screen phosphor over exposure. Letterboxed/side-pillar 4:3 programming looks fine with the 8300HD's zoom feature, while zooming or stretching ordinary 4:3 with the 8300HD makes humans appear too plump. -- John

When watching SD, use the s-video input/output and stretch with your display.

3100hd Is Old School Now, Try Using Rf,composite Or S-video And Flip Flop Inputs On Tv. No Settings Available On That Model.
