Job: Expand in house Russound distributed audio system to include the pool house (six speakers, TV, uverse, ipod ect)

Step 1: Locate, inspect and document the existing setup that must be tied in to.

Step 2: Shake head in disbelief.

How do you even put a bid number to something like this?

The equipment is installed in a 20' long built in cabinet that no doubt cost several thousand dollars. The equipment w/ cables attached did not fit the cabinet. Installers solution? Cut the back out of the built in, remove the drywall and cut notches into the studs.

Stuctured wiring is outstanding as well (very cleverly disguised as a heap of wire and power transformers adjacent to the equipment)

If this was a homeowner attempt at an install I could understand but this was purportedly put in by "professionals" (who have a competing bid btw for the poolhouse expansion)

I've studied that photo for several hours now. I cannot find a winner between:

I will be sidestepping this system entirely. Owners aren't interested in setting it up properly right now.
