I've got a Directv H23 receiver hooked to an HD TV that's in a room that rarely gets used but due to the size of the TV that's where it is (in other words the TV wouldn't work in my sons room). Speaking of my sons room he has a portable that old enough not to have any other type of connection other than coax. What I've done is go off of the HR 23 with composite cable to an RF Modulator and then from that ran the coax back to his TV. It works great since the HR23 is RF and he can control the box in the other room while he's in his. Problem is is he likes Netflix and has a Roku box in his room which was why I had a RF Mod. to begin with.

What I want to do is add another RF Modulator in his room to hook up the Roku and then use a splitter to tie the RF Mod from the HR23 together. Have one RF Mod on channel 3 (Directv) and the other Mod (Roku) on channel 4 but essentially feed the TV with one coax cable. Sound feasible or am I missing something along the way?

Not going to work because the consumer-grade modulators are going to trash the adjacent channel. Probably much simpler to just use another ch3/4 modulator and a coax A/B switch. Not as "clean", but at least it will work.

RadioShack has a super cheap ch3/4 modulator for $12 (which works!), probably have the coax switch there, too.

Thanks. Yeah a switched splitter. That'll do the trick.
