Hi!

I am installing a Xantech ML85K, which has the peephole style IR receiver. I mounted the receiver in the in-wall speaker, and the 3.5mm wire runs about three feet down into the basement. It then gets an extension cable and runs over to the av receiver and other equipment.

I was wondering if this xantech ir receiver wire is 'in-wall' approved. I know the receiver has a LED in it that blinks when you send a remote code, so it makes me think there's some sort of power going through it. I then was wondering if it's alright to run it in the wall by itself.

Thanks!

Probably not, but I wouldn't be too concerned about it...
