Hi There I have a basic question about routing audio and IR from one place to another using a Russound A-C68 audio hub. I'd like to put the Russound into my attic where I homerun most of the CAT5 in my home, but then I can't connect the primary sources like my AV Receiver because the audio hub uses RCA inputs, and I haven't run that kind of cabling. Is there an easy way to get the 2 channel audio and IR signals from my AV Receiver to the Russound using CAT5 or even just 16 gauge speaker wire? I know about things like their RAVE1 balun, but was hoping for a cheaper alternative? Any ideas?

IR over cat5, RCA over either coax (2) or cat5 using a MuxLab balun...

For each stereo audio channel: A pair of MuxLab Stereo Hi-Fi Baluns (500028)

For IR extention: MuxLab Remote IR Extender (500600)
