Looking for a simple way to stream music from our individual phones to our onkyo home theater that has a zone 2 feature for our outside pool area. We purchased a blackberry Bluetooth adaptor that plugs into our onkyo and that works great when in the same room as the onkyo but range quickly becomes the issue. Is there a wifi alternative that would allow us to stream music via wifi from our phones to our older onkyo receiver? We looked at the Sonos system but that is a really expensive option when we only need one zone and we are really just wanting to be able to listen to pandora stations or our music on our phones with full control from the pool area.

I also looked at the apple tv's and that would work great if we had iPhones but we are a home full of android users.

Thank you.

Take a look at BubbleUPnP:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...bbleupnp&hl=en

That combined with a UPnP/DLNA compatible media player attached to the Onkyo should do what you want.

I use BubbleUPnP the other way - streaming content from my network storage to my Galaxy Tab - and have found it to be well worth the price.

Thanks for the info, I downloaded bubbleupnp and while it does look promising i cannot get it to stream to my Xbox 360 - must be missing something in the setup somewhere.

Are you able to stream pandora or just your mp3 files from your android? What app are you using to do this?
