I have a Nuvo GC system and want to add my entire iTunes Library as a source. Not interested in Sonos, Airport, or direct PC/Mac as audio source since since I want keypad metadata/control.

All I want is my music library (no Pandora, internet radio, etc.)

Does the Nuvo iPod dock allow Shared Library access via Home Sharing or only local songs? Seems I could stream ALL of my music from iTunes to an iPod touch source as a much cheaper option.

Hmmm... I haven't tried the Home Sharing, but I suspect the iPod interface probably maps directly to the local storage only. Should be the same as any other iPod dock (function of the iPod, not the dock). But an iPod can hold a lot of music - especially if you create a copy of your library at a relatively low bitrate (say 128k-160k), since you won't likely hear any difference from the GC / whole house speakers. Not as clean as a shared library, but yeah, can be a cheap server!
