Hi Everyone,
I recently moved into a house that was built in 1998, and I need some help figuring out the speaker system...

I have two speakers in my dining room, office, den, kitchen and master bedroom (two in the bedroom area and two in the bathroom area).

The problem that I cannot figure out how to make heads or tails of this system...

Here's some pictures....

Has anyone seen a setup like this before? I cannot get any sound out of the speakers or even any indication that they are turned on? It seems like the volume controls have the amps included for the two speakers, but I could be wrong... I know it's an old system, but any help would me much appreicated...
I asked the old owner, but they had NO idea if it ever worked, they never turned it on, and the owners before them, I have no idea how to reach them...

Thanks again you guys.

There's no amplifier there. That's a speaker connection block - may also be a selector, can't tell from the images. Is there a model number on it (not sure if that's a Russound piece or not)? You need to connect an AVR or amplifier to it, at the "amp out" connection on the end. The volume controls are just that.

This link contains some wiring diagrams that may help.

Jautor,

Is there anything else I can take pictures of that would help you?

So each pair of speakers needs to be plugged into an AVR or Amplifier?

@ Neurorad
I only have the binder that the old homeowners gave me, it has instructions for everything else but this damn system (and the overly complicated thermostat, but I digress).
Thank you for the Crutchfield link, I'm going to fish thru the information on that page.

Thanks you guys...

You should figure out who made the speaker panel. May be a sticker on the bottom. But it appears to be just a connecting block, although the venting hints that it's perhaps doing impedance-matching as well. But your volume controls appear to be impedance-matching as well, so I'm probably mistaken...

You just plug one amp into the "Input from Amp Out" connection, and that will feed all the attached speakers.
