I've got a Denon AVR-1612 receiver and a Monoprice 4x4 HDMI matrix switcher.

Here is how my setup is currently PC > HDMI > Matrix > HDMI > AVR > HDMI > Projector.
It works great, but when I switch to another source in the switcher say PS3 and then back to the PC I loose the PC's audio...
When I go to playback devices on the PC is sees the Denon but says "not connected"
I've tried powering off and on the AVR but the PC still dossnt connect to a AVR.
Only after restarting my PC will it detect the AVR again.

Any suggestions?

Most likely your PC / video card is not handling the "hot plug" event(s) properly, so when devices are disconnected from the HDMI chain, it gets confused.

Adding an HDMI Detective between the PC and the matrix to keep the EDID from changing or disappearing might fix it. Might take some experimentation...
