Last year, there was a new release that silicone image was releasing a chip for 6X2 matrix hdmi switch.

http://www.siliconimage.com/news/releasedetails.aspx?id=665

Are there any 6X2 HDMI switches available, for sale, yet?

The I have a stern and one other brand 4X2 hdmi switches. They each have their own problems.. They just don't seem to work right!

That's probably what is being used in the newer AVR's that incorporate a 2nd HDMI (matrix) zone... The ratio would fit an AVR footprint better than a standalone device.

After your post, I read the comments about it. It seems high end. I hope its closer to $300 than $1000! The DVDO switch seems to be a great option - perhaps more than what I need.. I don't really need the multi PIP display etc.. Why can't someone make a simple 6X2 switch? Is it such a small market? There are so many of the 5X1 switches, real cheap! But no matrix versions. Even the 4X2 matrix switches being currently sold, don't work very well. I tried 4 and own two. All have problems of one kind or another.

Nice - yeah, the DVDO Quick6 does look nice. I wonder if they are working on an HDBaseT version...
