Just added a 4x4 HDMI matrix switch to a CA66 installation where i have four sources configured (DVR1, DVR2, DVD, AppleTV) as audio sources for a CA66 with corresponding flatscreens in each room. The Matrix switch has a unique IR code for each source/output pair (total of 16). I'd like to program each KPL to send the corresponding IR code for its "output" screen anytime the "Source" button is pressed in a given room. KPL1/Source 1 sends Display1/Source1, KPL3/Source4 sends Display3/Source4, etc

Anyone know if this is possible? All the IR learning in the CA66 manual seems to be focused on the addon transport keypad...

Hello

The CAA66 is a basic controller and can be set up for transport controls of sources (play, stop, etc) but it does not have any advance programming ability to control a third party video matrix. It is compatible with the Russound VM1-4 4x4 matrix, although our matrix is RGB Component only.

If you had a third party programmable remote, you could create the macros needed to both switch the Matrix and switch the KPL, however the IR for that remote still has to hit EACH keypad individually.

Conversely, you could also look at a third party remote or automation product that can use both IR and RS232 to control your matrix via IR, and the CAA66 via RS232. URC and RTI are two brands to look at for these types of remotes, but there are others as well.

Lastly, in many systems with video switching, most dealers look at the Russound C-Series MCA_C5 controllers, which have much more advanced programming capability.
