Ok not sure if this link will work . I think I am going to go with the Sonos system. I wanted advice whether just one speaker system either the playbar or Play 5 will be enough sound for the kitchen, dining and living area? We opened the entire areas up so it's basically one big room. I would set either the Play 5 or playbar up right under the tv. I mean no matter where we would be standing in either room we would be about 15-20' from the speaker. Can't see how it would not be loud enough. If so which speaker am I better off with? Thanks

The Playbar hasn't gone on sale yet so there's no way to know how it compares sonically to the Play:5. I'm waiting to hear for myself, I have two Play:5's set up as a stereo pair, and I plan to do some comparative listening between them and the Playbar when it arrives.

My hunch is that the Playbar will have fuller sound than a single Play:5, as it boasts nine drivers to the Play:5's five, but won't match up as well to the stereo pair. In any case I intend to use the Playbar for tv watching.

If you plan to listen to the TV via Sonos a TV with Optical out and a PLAYBAR is a better option than a TV with Stereo Out and a PLAY:5 as the PLAY:5 has an audio delay whilst it processes the analogue audio so video and audio end up out of sync - the digital Input on the PLAYBAR (DD only - no DTS) has no processing delay!

It's an L/C/R. You can add the sub or a set of Play3 for surrounds if you like.

had a chance to listen to music through the play bar with the sub hooked up to it. IMPRESSIVE to say the least. Going to a sonos training on tuesday and should get some more time with it.

Sonos Sub, Playbar, Bridge, and a pair of Play 3 = $2045! Too much coin for closed, mid-fi (at best) system IMO.

yes it is. I do like the streaming capabilities and ease of use. I also see the the market for what they offer. but yeah expensive. definitely less expensive ways to get HT and streaming music and better sound.
