I am building a new house and here is the floor plan with AV/data wiring recommendation from the builder.
I was wonder if I should run HDMI cable or HDMI over cat5e from Media room equipments to family room. And for future proof, should I run conduits from some of the rooms to attics? Other than AV cable, do you think I have enough data cable connection(cat5e/RJ6)?
Any other recommendation and suggestion? Thanks a lot.
It's hard to read the small print and decode all those acronyms, but looks like you've got quite a bit of cable, which is good!
Make sure you have:
cat5e to any volume controls in parallel to the speaker wire.
2-3 cat5e/cat6 to the projector in addition to HDMI (it just says 'projector bundle')
Think about pre-wiring for speakers / volume controls in other areas, especially on the 1st floor - Dinig, master, master bath, kitchen, garage, patio
And to your questions - yes, conduits to key spots is a great move. You've got 2-3 cat5e to many locations, so at first glance, you've got "enough". If you can re-do the drawing to just show the number of cables / types at each location, it would be easier to tell for sure. But I think you've got more than the basics covered well.
