Dear experts and forum members, I am in design stage of my parent house and need a low tech and easy to use sounds system. Attached is the room details and configuration options.
4 Direct TV HD DVR
2 Zone Receiver (yamaha RX 667?)
1 Sonos 120 (to connect to living room surround speakers thru receiver)?
1 Sonos 120 (to connect to outdoor speakers directly or thru receiver?)
DVD PLayer (to connect to Living room TV and hopefully to Kids Room #2)
A/V Outline 314k .pdf file
1 TV (to connect to DVR1 in A/V Room via CAT 5 to HDMI cable)
5 ceiling surrond speakers and (to connect to a receiver in A/V Room but also need to listen to music hopefully with SONOS? I would prefer to eliminate the receiver but sounds like I can not, do I need speaker selector?)
1 TV (to connect to DVR2 in A/V Room via CAT 5 to HDMI cable)
1 Sonos Bar (I think better than any other bar, pleae correct if I am wrong)
1 Play Station/DVD
Kids Room 2
1 TV (to connect to DVR3 in A/V Room via CAT 5 to HDMI cable)
Can they watch DVD from the A/V Closet or Kids Room #1?
1 TV (to connect to DVR4 in A/V Room via CAT 5 to HDMI cable)
2 in Wall speakers by the patio (to connect to sonos in A/V Closet)
2 in ground rock speakers (to connect to the same sonos in A/V Closet)
Can these 2 sets be connected into the same sons?
If so I would think I do not need in wall volume knobs!?
Mind you my parents are 70 and need very easy to follow remote control and they both have IPAD for sonos?
for Remote I was thinking an Universal MX series for the living room only to select WATCH TV and LISTEN MUSIC(from sonos) options, is there a cheaper remote to accomplish this?
is the configuration reasonable, if not what are the changes you would recommend?
Your input is highly appreciated.
