I have wired my house x 2 Cat5/x2 Cat6, + x1 RG59 to 5 different room locations for video. Two of these rooms also have dual channel speakers for whole home audio.

Since I need a matrix to distribute the video anyway, are there systems that can distribute both video & audio, and be used as a multizone audio system for music?
Are there any systems that would utilize the existing Cat6 cables without needing baluns?

Short answer is not anything that would be considered DIY or "budget". Those systems are much cheaper if installed separately, but they can certainly share sources. The remote / control methods are very different, too.

In the rooms with whole home audio, are your TVs connected to the whole house audio speakers? If they were you could use something like a roku or apple tv to stream your music.

Thanks Jautor, it did seem quite a bit more complicated than your basic matrix or 6/6 zone audio system.

And no Virtus, the speakers are home runned.
