As a bit of a buffoon with technology I am looking to set up a home network to stream movies, photos & music around the house. I have BT infinity broadband, a sonos system with bridge and a samsung ue 40f6400 smart tv. I am guessing I need to get a particular external hard drive to plug into the router that will stream video and photos to my tv and my music to my sonos system? Can anyone recommend a wireless hard drive that would join all these systems together? Thanks in advance

Welcome fox1972,

There are a number of things to consider before moving forward, such as....

...wired or wireless clients, or both
...format to be streamed, esp for video as high bit rates may/may not perform well over wireless connections
...streaming device, either NAS or unused PC/MAC....do not use a external hard drive connected to your router

and many more items to consider. I recommend heading over to http://www.avsforum.com/f/39/networking-media-servers-content-streaming to get more info in this arena.
