Sources of Interference

Hello all,

I have a separate AV rack in the unfinished part of my basement. I have noticed that it seems to get interference from time to time.

I recently replaced my PS3 in the rack with a PS4. The new controllers have intermittent problems that never existed before. All I can figure is that there is interference.

Is there a way to gauge and measure interference that affect Ethernet, HDMI, bluetooth and other wireless signals so I can confirm its existence and move the rack to a place where it is minimized?

Thanks.

Interference where? Symptoms?

With the game controller or the audio/video?

Both.

Do I have to worry about electrical cables?
Light fixtures?
Computers?
Hot water heaters?
Electrical Panels?
Geothermal Units?

Also is there an objective way to know when there is too much?

Thanks.

You're going to have to give us a little more than that... What is happening that leads you to believe you've got interference problems? And "it doesn't work" isn't a good description...

Regardless, if you physically move the gaming console and connect it temporarily to the rest of the gear with another cable, does it change the results?
