I am thinking about buying the MRD-D1 for my home theater setup so that I can view both my Tivo's in the bedroom as shown in the attached diagram.

I have a few questions:

1. How do i change from tivo 1 to tivo 2 in the bedroom?

2. How do i change channels on the 2 tivos from the bedroom?

When you connect each Tivo to the MRD-D1 you will need to select a unique channel number on which to modulate for each unit (i.e. Tivo 1 channel 84 and Tivo 2 channel 86). Also in the bedroom you will have an IR target. This transmits the IR signal from your bedroom to the emitters attached to your tivos. So from your bedroom change the TV channel to 84 to watch tivo 1 and 86 to watch tivo 2. You may want to consider getting the ChannelPlus 3025 instead of the MRD-D1. You have more channels to choose from and it is much easier (and more reliable) to set the channel numbers with the 3025. The 3025 does not come with the emitters and the IR target though. They ahve to be purchased seperately. Good luck.

The emitters run about $10. The targets run about $50.

You CAN put antennas on your owned and/or controlled property...
