Best Way to Add a 2nd Zone?

I recently installed 5.1 speakers in my living room, powered by a Denon E300 AVR. It is attached to a dedicated HTPC/Home server.

I'd like to add a 2nd zone in another room, which is within 100' cable length away, however my AVR does not support 2 zones. I am ok with only 2.1 audio in the 2nd zone. I'm also ok with simply duplicating the signal in both rooms, ie not having separate content playing simultaneously.

Should I get a 2nd AVR and HDMI splitter, split the signal from the HTPC to both AVRs, and then extend HDMI video over Cat6 to zone 2 TV, along with speaker cables to my 2.1?

Is there a better way to do this than buying another AVR?

Could you get a media streamer for that room to pull content from your HTPC instead?

Otherwise, yes, this is the best way. Doing it without an AVR would likely limit your 5.1 system to 2-channel stereo...
