I recently installed 5.1 speakers in my living room, powered by a Denon E300 AVR. It is attached to a dedicated HTPC/Home server.
I'd like to add a 2nd zone in another room, which is within 100' cable length away, however my AVR does not support 2 zones. I am ok with only 2.1 audio in the 2nd zone. I'm also ok with simply duplicating the signal in both rooms, ie not having separate content playing simultaneously.
Should I get a 2nd AVR and HDMI splitter, split the signal from the HTPC to both AVRs, and then extend HDMI video over Cat6 to zone 2 TV, along with speaker cables to my 2.1?
Is there a better way to do this than buying another AVR?
