Denon AL24 + Rotel Amp Whole House Audio problem

I have a Denon AL24 connected to a Rotel RMB 1049 8 Channel Amp. with a B&W TV surround system
and all the A/V peripherals (DVD, VCR, etc) run through that.
I also have a whole house sound system which at one time allowed us to play the Tuner, DVD, etc throughout the house. The problem is when we connect the whole house systemto the AMP, we lose the TV surround sound (it no longer works), and vise versa. I've tried several different wiring configurations but can't seem to get the proper combination. It worked several years ago (before my time) Any thoughts on what may be wrong?
I'd appreciate any feedback

What's connected to where and how? Draw us a diagram because your description isn't clear. Draw it on paper and take a cell phone picture if that's easier.

What's the whole house system? Is the Rotel amp being used as part of that?

Denon "AL24" isn't a model number - that's a technology inside the AVR. Look for the model number elsewhere on the front of the unit...
