Do you need to order the Xantech power supplies or will an appropriate voltage power supply from Radio Shack? Specifically the 789-44 block says it uses either the 781RG or 782-00 power supply, does anyone know what the equivalent RS Power supply would be?

You can use any power supply that can provide the appropriate current and voltage. It needs to be a regulated supply that puts out between 11.5 V and 13 V under load. You also need to make sure that it has the appropriate size plug and the plug polarity is the same as the connecting block. Doesn't seem to be a standard for plug polarity. Center pin is positive.
