I suspect you are confusing the words composite ( as in video ) and component. Most consumer component video connections are RCA female. A few companies, like Integra, also provide BNC connections. The difference is technical and irrelevant to 480p signals at any rate. Feel free to use RCA connectors for your component video connections.
