I am Pronto fan and the current setup you have would be easy to control. You may need some sort of IR distribution system to make sure all the equipment receives a good IR signal. Most anyone can program the Pronto with some help at www.remotecentral.com.
The Niles system will require some additional help from a qualifed Niles dealer. This system contains some intelligence to make sure the equipment is powered up and off correctly, as well as set the equipment settings. The Niles is more friendly to other family members and the system is hard to get out of sync, which may happen with the Pronto. These devices are really not in the same class including price. The Niles is closer to a Crestron STS system (which I prefer). The Pronto is a Fancy IR remote.
The control system is more important than any other part of your system. After all, without the system being easy to use, no one will use it. Price it accordingly.

I need a girl whos name does not end in .jpg

Gang, this is all new to me. I would like to get one remote to do most functions but cannot afford a system like Crestron. Here's my list of existing and new AV gear. Any suggestions on one remote to do most of this would be appreciated. My local dealer wants to sell me the Marantz version of the Pronto or the Niles "hard button" (no display) remote. Eventually some lighting control would be fun but for now budget is getting slim!

Sony XBR 400 36" HD new TV
Lexicon DC2 pre/pro
Velodyne HGS 15 powered sub (with remote for power and volumn)
Sherbourn 3 ch. x 200w amp from AV Science
Outlaw 5 ch. x 165w power amp
Mitsu older SVHS player model # HS U69
Go Video 8mm/VHS player 5 yr old
Pioneer Elite 300 + 1 DVD/CD changer, soon to buy
Stewart Greyhawk electric 100" diag 4:3 screen
Infocus LP 350 projector

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Dave..
