For anyone who still wants one of the Denon video processors, they are available from AVS, and for way way way less than the original MSRP. Actually, it's more like pretty much a blowout price, at $299 + shipping.

is it better than Marvell Qdeo in the Elite receivers? I want to use it to upscale my LD output.

Very funny for the prior reply! :P

Yes, the DVP-602CI DOES handle 240p via component video! I've yet to try and tweak with the settings, but it looks like it tries to deinterlace 240p as 480i (display on the front of the unit remains 480i). I tested this by playing a NES virtual console Wii game. You have to switch the Wii to 480i mode in order to get 240p output from the corresponding VC games.

With 240p scaling from the 602CI, input lag is significant (wild guess would be >100ms). My TV was in game mode when I noticed this. The 602CI would be an awesome 240p scaler if they made a few FW "Feature Additions".

The menu on the 602CI indicates that the functionality can be updated (Add New Feature), but outside of dealership agreements with Denon, I don't think consumers have access to make this unit work correctly with 240p, or have a game mode/computer scaling mode!!!

All I've tried is the basic tests with the Wii. I have a Kramer FC-14 I can use to test out other 240p RGB sources:

RGB 240p -> Kramer FC-14 -> Denon DVP-602CI -> TV @ 1080p

I was surprised to see that you cannot select the output resolution. The Denon seems to just select the panel max, and thankfully selects the correct resolution (i.e. 1080p)!!!

manual page 22 suggests that the Denon is simply set to auto output. You should be able to select the output resolution manually as well from a list which includes the major HD resolutions and also some PC resolutions.

Yeah, I skimed through the PDF before receiving... I just haven't unwrapped the remote, and using the face buttons isn't fun...

Maybe you should spend a little more time with it before drawing any more conclusions. At least read the OM and unwrap the remote control.

Just a suggestion.

Don't know if they have any left or not. But the offer for buying them through AVS was only available to people in the US and Canada. Unfortunately with your info showing you as being in the UK, I don't think you would be able to purchase one through AVS.

The power buy has been over for quite some time. However I have one DVP602ci B Stock available. This unit is in perfect condition. It comes from AVS with a full 3 year warranty. Call if you need more info.

Gents, new to the forum, fact I dig it. I have full klipsch 7.1 speakers, B&K 7270 200watt amp. This processor doesn't have the 7 preouts need to hook up to the amp. My question is, what is the component that I need to work in conjunction with this and my amp. I told you that I am ignorant.

Assuming I bought this unit, would I then need a preamp? I'm really trying to complete my first HT system. This unit sounds great for movies, Wii, Blu-ray, etc. I also want to thump my house to piss off my neighbors with some Ted Nugent, ZZ Top and UFO also. Please feel free to reconcile my ignorance.

I guess I could say "need help in New Mexico" Thanks to the members and to the website.

THis is a VIDEO processor not an AUDIO processor. While great for a home theater it will not solve your audio issue. I suggest posting in an audio forum.

I'm able to pass 3D via HDMI at 1080i60 from a FIOS cable box to a Denon AVR-3311CI in pass thru mode to the 602CI, from there I output 1080p24 to my Sharp 3D set and it works just fine. I have to manually go into 3D mode from the Sharp but it looks great going thru the 602CI. Perhaps the key is to keep the signal at 1080i going into the Denon 602. I'm going to trying with the POS Panny 220 BluRay disc player when I have some time tomorrow.

It will pass through 3D cable because it uses side-by-side 3D.

Won't work with frame-sequential 3D from blu-ray.

Okay thanks for clarifying that, I was hoping it would work with 3D bluray, oh well.
