I have applied anamorphic lens (Prismasonic HD5000M) to my projector (HC5500) and am looking for inexpensive (meaning less than USD1,000 or hopefully less than USD500) video processor which can do the following in order to resolve the subtitle issues:
1) zoom the image to eliminate or lessen the upper and bottom black bars;
2) shift (move) the zoomed image up a little without change the image size, so that the upper black bar will be cut off and the upper part of bottom black bar will be shown a bit to make room for subtitles; and
3) save such setting in the remote.
I asked this issue at DVDO Edge thread and was kindly advised that DVDO Edge can do 1) and 2) (only when zoomed), but 3) is not possible (for 3), it seems that I may have to do something complicated with the remote(to create macro)).
I also checked the manuals of Gefen products (relatively inexpensive ones), but it seems that they do not support zooming and panning except for fixed aspect ratio options. Is it true?
Is there any good inexpensive video processor to fit for my purpose above? Currently, DVDO Edge is the most close one... but is there any other product similar to that?
My BD Player (Samsung 1500) and DVD Player (Pioneer 610AV) will be connected to the video processor. Therefore, 1080p 24fps input capability is also important.
Please help!! Thank you in advance!
