How do I keep the Gray Window test patterns the same size in the Lumagen? When I press the 4 button on the remote and select continuous to adjust the grayscale levels, I get a white window, but when I take a single reading a smaller size white window pops up. I noticed using different size windows throws off the gamma setting at the higher end.

Edit: Nevermind. Downloaded Radiance Tech Tip 5: Using Test Patterns

Edit: actually spent about 40 minutes calibrating the grayscale manually in the Lumagen before realizing calibration reset was still active in Auto-Cal, LOL. Had to do it all over again after the LUT calibration was finished. Didn't really mind as my calibrating skills are improving.
Wait - why are you having to do anything manually? Can't the auto cal take care of everything you need?

I can do better than auto-cal below 40 IRE, and auto-cal does not work at 5%.

For those who care, Radiance Tech Tip 5 (Rev 2.2) says to use the Reference test patterns for setting the display controls.

AV_Mike, I'm having the same problem as before, namely trying to use the Lumagen controls while the signal generator in ChromaPure is still active. How do you run auto-cal and still make manual adjustments with the Lumagen controls? Do you run 21-point grayscale calibration first? Then activate the signal generator in ChromaPure for auto-cal and 125-point lut?

Yes, I disable Pattern Generator support within ChromaPure, then perform Greyscale and Gamma (21-point) manually - I find this gives me the best results. Once I am happy with those aspects, I re-enable ChromaPure control, and start the 125-point CMS Auto-Cal.
As has been said before, once you get comfortable with the Lumagen menus, etc, it is quite quick and easy.
Regards, Mike.

Thanks, Mike. I guess as long as you save the LUT calibration it's okay to disable the pattern generator at any time in the session.

WRT the User Color Window test patterns in the Lumagen, will this feature allow me to make changes to the "Gray: Small 50 APL" and "Gray: Medium 50 APL" patterns?

Also, when you make a change, how do you save it?

Question: how do I correct the response taken from the APL measurement? I tried the grayscale/gamma controls on the Lumagen, but the APL patterns are not there; I see only the Window test patterns with white window and black border. When I use the Window patterns, the gamma response changes back to the old reading. I'll post this in the Radiance Mini3 thread as well.
