I have viewsonic vmp75 media player, Onkyo 708 reciever with Faroudja chip and Samsung 8000 model tv. I have connected VMP75 to Onkyo receiver and Onkyo to Tv through HDMI cables.

ViewSonic does not pass native resolution for example 480p , 1080p as it is. I need to run setup to select 480p or 1080p everytime depending on video source(dvd or blue ray). It also has auto sync option. I guess it converts 30 frames to 60 frames. What is the possible way to get better video quality?

The question is , which one is good at converting 480p to 1080p? I guess I don't need to worry about Blueray since the source itself is 1080p

The second question I have is , how does samsung is converting 24 to its own frequency(240hz)?

Thanks for reading.
