Can anyone please help this newbie ? ,

All my equipment is being delivered 2-3-12 , I will be getting a Denon AVR 991 a/v receiver; that unit has an Ethernet connection port.

To it , I will be connecting an Xbox 360, a Mitsubishi 82740 TV , and a Samsung Bdd 5700, all three of these devises have their own independent Ethernet port, so my question is : Since I am running an Ethernet connection to the a/v receiver; will I also need to run one to the other devices in order to use them for online content ?

any help/ advice is greatly appreciated !

thanks Bob

Yes, you will need to run ethernet cables to each device in order to get online with each component. A good solution that I am running is 1 ethernet cable to a 3 port extender that plugs into each device.

Hope this helps........

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

You stated that you
are running is 1 Ethernet cable to a 3 port extender that plugs into each device. Could you please tell me what brand you are using or if you have a recommendation for one?

thanks again !

I'm using a Linksys 4 port extender (sorry, was a typo in my above post), that then connects to my Denon AVR, Denon scaler, Xbox 360, Sony S5000 Blu Ray......no connection issues and have done multiple firmware updates using this Linksys device.

I purchased from Staples for about $25.....
