Does anyone on the forum have one of these yet and if so, any impressions?

wmassie 03-15-2012 08:53 AM

Hmmm...... the silence on this supposedly revolutionary device has been deafening and the minimal "professional" reviews I found out there have been vauge and all seemingly by the same author.

http://www.3dtv.com/news/How-To-Watch-3D-Movies-At-Home
http://mancavedaily.newyork.cbslocal...ion-3d-gadget/

comments like "I'm certainly seeing something different now that the Darblet's attached"
"it does alter the way you're viewing the image and for many, they'll think they're seeing 3D-like effects"
"Darbee's DarbeeVision can be of aid here, although this device seems, in my opinion, to be totally about perception"

What in the heck does that mean? Does it work or not?

I would have thought Mr. Darbee would have pushed out a lot of the devices to pro reviewers by now to spur excitement but nothing.

I preordered one because of what it promises and even a 15% improvement in my 165 inch diagonal image would be great but now I'm wondering.....

I can't even remember for how many years I suggested this, but Darbee, along with all other video processor makers out there, should put out demo blu-rays, so consumers can see the effect first hand on their own equipment prior to buying.

Not sure I see the point, as I'd want to see what it does on "regular" content.

Also, there's already another thread for the Darblet

I am the first cusomer to be receiving one. I will be reviewing it on a Panasonic PT-AE7000 and on a Pioneer plasma TV. From what I saw at CES this will be a major upgrade for those with projectors.

chuckg1 03-19-2012 02:51 PM

Can't wait for your review.

Mark A Gonzalez 03-19-2012 03:46 PM

I got an email today from DaebeeVision saying that the unit will be shipping shortly.

I received a similar email last night. Looking forward to this.

Does anyone have one yet ? It seems like it's taking longer than expected to get this product out.

raneil 03-29-2012 02:52 PM

Sent Larry Price an email with reference to receipt of product. He says they are two weeks behind schedule.

RonF 03-29-2012 03:17 PM

That be Larry Pace.....

AV Science Sales 5 03-30-2012 08:23 AM

I am interested in this product also and may pick one up just to see what it can do.

raneil 04-01-2012 10:17 AM

April 14 is now the date they are giving.

wmassie 04-13-2012 06:32 AM

Any sighting of this in the wild? Or is this the classic case of vaporware? What about the folks who ordered first? Will those ship on the 14th? If that is the case I won't see mine until August

raneil 04-13-2012 12:56 PM

Hi,

We will announce a shipment date in the next couple of days and with some manufacturing delays, we are likely going to ship behind schedule but very happy with the product build and productization.

Please stay tuned, we are almost there.

Best regards,

Larry Pace, COO
DarbeeVision Inc.

This was made in response to my inquiry about them meeting the their latest deadline.

CJayB 04-13-2012 06:41 PM

Thanks for the update. Really looking forward to this gizmo.

Mark A Gonzalez 04-14-2012 01:25 PM

Remember Larry, I get mine first because I ordered first. LOL
I saw this in person at CES and I am very excited about it. You could really see the difference on a small lcd tv so I cant wait to see what its going to do for the image on my projector and 120" screen. Its going to look like I upgraded my projector.

raneil 04-16-2012 09:55 AM

Hello All,

A fault was found with one component in our Darblet, during final testing. The corrective solution has put us into another delay. We apologize for the extra wait for product shipment, however we need for this issue to be 100% corrected before releasing the Darblet to our customers, dealers and the market. We are working with Arrow Electronics and our CM very closely to be assured that the solution is effective. I will be able to update you again in a day or two. We are confident that we will be able to begin shipments within 2 weeks.

Please order a copy of the April edition of the Wide Screen Review, where our advertisement will display a list of our authorized dealers. You can still order Darblets directly from DarbeeVision and once we have a ship date, you will order from our dealer network.

With growing interest in our technology, we are getting more questions about what Darbee Visual Presence is, and what it isn't. For this reason, I have attached a white paper describes the genesis of the technology and process by which it became a practical computational image enhancement solution. As we are getting the world up to speed, we are happy to support you with responses to technical questions about our Visual Presence technology.

Thank you for your patience,
Larry Pace, COO
DarbeeVision Inc.

Bummer!

CJayB 04-26-2012 06:00 PM

Widescreen Review volume 21 number 4 is now out with the Darbee ad on page 23.

Does anyone know how the Darbee is going to be "upgreadable after purchase"?

praz 04-28-2012 09:53 AM

Email from Larry. The Darblet is shipping this weekend in the order that orders were placed. Means I should have mine by the middle of the coming week.

CJayB 04-28-2012 11:11 AM

I also got the email from Larry, with the User Guide attached. Sounds like the User Guide will be posted online this weekend. I placed my order fairly early (but not one of the first 3 listed in Larry's email) and hope to have mine soon since I live close to Orange County.

The User Guide answers my own question. The Darblet is upgradeable after purchase, "although you will have to send it in to receive new firmware, and there may be a processing charge".

Mark A Gonzalez 04-28-2012 02:00 PM

Yee Haw, I am getting my darblet. in a couple of days!!!

raneil 04-28-2012 04:05 PM

Darblets will be shipped out, in the order that the orders were placed.

Mark, Shahrokh, Alfonso, your orders are the very first that will go out.

So that you can start to familiarize yourself with the product, I have attached the digital, first edition, of the User Guide and it will posted to the website as well.

And I cant wait to review it.

raneil 04-30-2012 11:00 PM

My concern is that no mention was made of the shipper or how it would be sent. It all sounds rather dubious to me since I made a purchase the day after the announcement and I would have expected a personal notification of shipping having taken place.

Emails were sent out overnight.

Hello,

Darblets have started shipping out on a first order in, first order out basis. If you got this email, your order has shipped already or is set up to ship Tuesday morning. For deliveries in the US, they are being sent FedEx Ground or FedEx Home/Residential. Most shipments are quoted by FedEx to arrive by 5/3, 5/4 or 5/5, depending upon the destination. If you would like a tracking number, please let me know and I will accommodate ASAP.

Thank you for your interest in our product. We hope to get feedback that will make our product even better.

Best regards,
Larry
