They are still not shipping after the first beta batch in December. I have called them to complain about the statement on the order page that new orders are expected to ship with 2 to 3 weeks. That statement has been up for months. I suspect the software needs much work to provide fetures such as fast forward etc. I understand they need time but I resent there making a statement that probably will not be true. There sales team knows this and has received many complaints but the higher ups are ignoring the complaints about expected shipping. They should just say coming.

If you have any experience with RED's track record for keeping their announced release dates, you should be happy to receive anything within 6 months of any pre-order. Even a year is not unheard of...

Its been 10 months now since I preordered. Of course I really don't know what is going on but people on the Red forum report much programming work is needed to make the unit functional for anything but transmission of a source from Odemax or loading the material on yourself, but there are questions here as well as to the availability of the plug in to put the material in Redray speak and to use it for anything but play from start to finish. But they don't charge your card until they ship so no real harm to me..

You have no other choice because you can't get it if you order it. It is in use at Cedia and I guess its fine on playing a loop demo and feeding a great signal presumably much higher quality than existing or the coming 4K consumer machines. Months ago at an industry trade show, a then spokesman for the company said they hired an outside sub to do some of the programming and the machine should be ready in 30 days but don't blame them, blame the sub if the sub couldn't get it done on time. Yea. Its never the responsibility of the contractor. Not his fault. Blame the sub. I knew then the machine would be delayed for months and months. I wonder what the vegas line is on it shipping this year. And if so, once it starts shipping, how long it will take to fill all back orders at the time shipping starts.
