External scaler question

I'm playing old Nintendo 64 and PSX era video games on my 4k Samsung HU9000. I'm wondering if an external scaler like the DVDO or other scaler will do a better job than the built in scaler in the TV at making the 240i output of the consoles more legible. I'm not expecting miracles but any improvement would be welcome.

Samsung UA55HU9000, Klipsch Quintet 5.1, Onkyo TX-NR515AE, Xbox One, PS4, Wii U. Plus a bunch of old consoles.

Almost every video processor will make those sources look better on your display than the internal processing. Classic "home video" processors like a DVDO aren't necessarily your best choice though. Have a look at the link in my signature to get an overview of your options.
