No problem! Happy to help. Now if only BB would clear out some more Audiotrons for $150!

Hi Don,
Thanks for the info, I ordered one...I was at the recent CES and was admiring the Rio Digital Audio Center (or whatever they call it)...It seems pretty nice, and has a lot of nice features. I have a feeling I'll probably end up with one of them someday (ha!)...I figured that an extra receiver would come in handy at some point.

Do you have external speakers attached to yours or do you plug it into an existing receiver...I was curious what sort of external speakers to look at in a stand-alone situation...

Thanks, Randy

One of the links I came across in the /. article says you can run it on Nt4. That's perfect for me, I've got an NT4 box in the basement with two 80G drives that's my fileserver.

Man, AVSForum is great! I'd been looking at the Turtle Beach boxes for a while, and here's an alternate solution I'd never seen before at 1/2 the price. Gotta love it.

boy do i agree! i was *THIS* close to an HP or $1,000-$1,500 and then was intro'ed to the turtlebeach... now i have a dell win2k server with 80GB and now it's all set.

and with the money i saved went towards a new sony dream system (dvd/speakers) for my bedroom :-)

oh yea, and i'm putting money aside for a windows ipod..

I haven't set mine up yet ... it's still sitting in the box. I plan on connecting it to my receiver in the living room. I think the amps inside the unit are too small to power any decent speaker. My file server is a simple Win98 box with 4 75 gig drives that sits in my office. I'm looking forward to setting the Rio up!

They appear to be gone from TigerDirect now. Anyone know another location with this killer $99 price, or will I now have to pay $150-$160?

I talked to Tigerdirect a week ago last Sunday. They told me I could order it then but it would be February 5 before they got it in, so I waited a day to order. The following day, I was told that they were no longer taking backorders. They had ordered 1000 units and already had 338 ordered. I was told they would put it back on their page February 5.

Yesterday, I was told that they had received the 1000 units, but the guy I talked to wasn't sure why they hadn't listed it again on their page. It'll probably be on sale again tomorrow, but I don't know if it will be at the same price.
