Ok I am fairly new at this but I am looking for a easy to use software for my media server. I want to use windows vista ultimate (please dont talk me out of it) I am currently using windows media center and i hate it there's so many problems. I have 200 DVDs and 200 CDs already ripped to my 10 TB server all the DVDs are in TS format and i dont want to rip them to anything else. I am also using My Movies to manage the dvds. I am hoping to find a software thats will play TS files and be somewhat simple to use any ideas?

Mac Mini + Plex. Perfectly silent, cheap, good looking... everything you need.

I am confused

you want to use vista but you dont want windows media center...

are you looking for a client recommendation or a server recommendation?

I assume that when you say "TS" format, you mean VIDEO_TS folder structure...

Check out Media Browser. I have moved from MyMovies to Media Browser, and there is no looking back. You can configure it to use an external player (such as MPC-HC) and us FFDSHOW to enhace the playback as your PC alows. Here is a like to the MediaBrowser forum.

Tom

Best is what you perceive it to be, not what others tell you it is.

Hi Sallain,

What kinds of problems are you having with WMC on your machine? I might be able to point you toward some helpful info.

Cheers,
