But the pics of the box clearly show it says "network blah blah blah."
I think you should apologize for calling out "pics or it didn't happen." Ya know, just to not end up looking like a DB.
I see no need to apologize for anything. Someone comes in here, first post, announces something. I asked for proof , he provided, end of discussion.
And I was talking about the website selling the item. Unless someone actually knew the product code, there's no way you could tell from the site that it's the new one with networking abilities.
judging by the time stamp on his photos (hopefully he set the proper time on his camera) and his post time, if he is an american he likely lives in the central time zone region. it's a pretty large swath of states, but it at least narrows it down.
i would be very interested in further unboxing images, kevin2. it'd also be great if you could run stress tests to see what that bad boy can do!
The store was in Sioux Falls, SD and from the receipt looks like the SKU # is 9539591.
There was only one left after I got one, so not sure how much inventory they have. Also saw the Seagate FreeAgent Theatre on the shelf beside them for the same money($139.99). They were on the shelf beside the hard drives.
Noticed they also had a couple of the Netgear Stora on the shelf too.
I plan to use this with an Epson projector. Will I be able to run the hdmi to the projector and run a digital audio cable through my audio receiver at the same time? Will the audio and video be in sync?
Any advice anyone could provide in this setup would be appreciated. I am planning on viewing ISO files of dvd movies ripped using dvd shrink.
What in the world happened at Amazon.com!? Recall the whole hoopla or no hoopla discussion we had on AVS??? Well all of a sudden the product just comes out and NOTHING to inform us about it. Where are our preorders from Amazon and couldn't WD at least give us a little heads up on their website or something? This was a messy way of bringing out a new product. I dont know if I feel slighted or not, but this was the wrong way to go about a release.
