Hey,

Our company currently employs fiber to distribute baseband composite video and audio through routers to a select few conference rooms. Most often the signal consists of a live video headshot with any content - slides, etc... sent through the network via Lotus Sametime or MS Live meeting.

I'm looking to move ahead into the 21st century and towards HD with some sort of network streaming device. I want to combine live video and content into one high def signal.

Here's a summary of what I'm doing:

I need a "box" that can ingest live video of a variety of formats plus a RGB signal - DVI or whatever for content. This box will be able to combine the video and content into one network stream and either display an overlay of the video on the content or full screen video or content alone. It would be a bonus if this headend device was a HD codec for videoconferencing as well and I could kill 2 birds with one stone as they say...

On the receiving end, the stream may be picked up by a PC, laptop, etc... or by a dedicated "box" built into a conference room AV system. The "box" should be simple and able to receive the stream without any intervention by the end user. I want to simply send out a stream and remotely designate which boxes are able to receive it.

So, that about sums it up. I've never ventured into this area of technology so I don't even know any key search terms.

I appreciate any help!
