Now if the new Apple TV would only pass Dolby Atmos immersive audio, I think we're on to a winner.

Yamaha RX-A3060 7.1.4 Receiver [+Sony Power Amp for Rear Height] / Sony KD-65Z9D / JVC HD1 DILA Projector / 90" screen / OPPO UDP-203 UHD blu-ray / Apple TV 4
Ascension Summoner 3-way Front Speakers / Ascension 3-way Centre Speaker / Peachtree D5 Surrounds / Yamaha NS-555 3-Way Rear Speakers / ERA D4 x 4 Height Speakers / Rythmik Audio F15HP Sub

You're right. If the new Apple TV 5 does that and has Amazon and Vudu as well, I don't think I'd need to use any other streaming device? Well, maybe another for FandangoNow?

Given all we know, it's logical that it is included, but as with all things, doesn't make it so.

Well HDMI 2.1 would be nice but if they release this year, it's probably too early for that.

I hope that this news along with the earlier news of HDR content showing up in some users' iTunes accounts means a September launch of a 4k AppleTV.

That said, Apple famously works on stuff that never gets released or gets released far later than anticipated or that looks substantially different from what early beta versions are like, so I'm cautiously optimistic. (And I'm ready to pre-order.)

Set The Date

Only 7 days to go http://appleinsider.com/articles/17/...-app-on-aug-22:

Quote:
An app has been rumored since March, and was confirmed in June without a firm release date. The app will become "widely available" next Tuesday, Variety said. Vudu is U.S. only. While not allowing people to buy or rent movies directly, the app should otherwise support watching any movie or TV show in a person's library, as well as free, ad-supported titles. Purchases will include access to bonus features like deleted scenes.

That is awesome. Just in time for a new HDR capable AppleTV which could be announced at the Apple event next month.
