Hello, I just purchased a 4gb xbox 360 to use as a WMC media extender for my living room tv. The setup process was seemless, the xbox gave me a code and i entered it in WMC in my computer and WMC loaded up on my xbox in the living room.
First problem is i noticed a lag while navigating through the WMC and mediabrowser menus. Second problem, when i play any of my videos, which are all 1080p mkv's the picture quality is horrible, stuttering and kind of looks like streamed live video.
The source computer is an i5 2500k with an asus h67 EVO mobo, 8gb or ram, SSD for OS and a WD black 1tb for media.
The router is a 4port gigabit SMC WIFI N router/modem supplied by my cable company. Port 1 of the router goes to my my office pc as described above.....Port 2 of the router is connected to an 8port gigabit trendnet switch in my living room with connects to the xbox, ps3 and internet enabled tv.
Port 3 of the router is connected to a 5port Dlink Gigabit switch in my bedroom connected to a networked bluray player
Port 4 is connected to an ethernet wall plate is another bedroom but nothing is connected to it.
My ps3 currently streams the same 1080p videos perfectly with playstation media server so i dont think theres a problem with my network.
I read the realtek NIC's are giving problems with the xbox as an extender. I heard of people enabling Flow control, i checked and mine says enabled. Not sure what else to do
Any advice on how to fix this issue?
Thanks
